Bookstore & Signings

Last day to apply to sign books was Thursday, July 28, 2022 as all book orders now need to be placed

Sign Up to Sign & Sell Books at Killer Nashville

Killer Nashville loves seeing our authors sell books and we make each book signing open to the general public. If you would like to sign and sell books at Killer Nashville 2022, simply let us know here.

Killer Nashville book signings are free and open to the public.

Authors wishing to sign books not only have the opportunity to meet conference attendees, but also book buyers and fans. All signings are open to the public and are well-attended, but Killer Nashville does not market itself as a “reader’s conference,” but rather as a “writers’ conference.” People buy books at Killer Nashville, but more importantly, they come to learn.

If you wish to participate in book signings, please indicate it on your registration form including available days and times (we will try to accommodate, but cannot guarantee your requested date and time).

Note: the more flexible you are the greater your chance of being able to sign books. Every effort will be made to accommodate your schedule, but no guarantees apply. Registration also does not guarantee an opportunity to sign.

VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

A few things to note. By our definition, to be considered for the “Traditional” route when you fill out our book stocking agreement, a book has to be available and distributed through Ingram (our supplier) and it has to be returnable. Our bookstore, a small independent, cannot order books if they cannot be returned. If either of these conditions are not able to be met, fill out the form as an “Independent.” We cannot order your book if it is not available through Ingram or not available for return. You will need to bring your own books if either is the case.

FOR FILLING OUT OUR BOOK ORDER / CONSIGNMENT FORM

For TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED BOOKS (by our definition above), please list the title, publisher, and ISBN of your books in print you wish to have available to sign in the Killer Nashville bookstore. We will make every effort to order these books for you. If there is a problem, we will let you know.

For INDEPENDENTLY PUBLISHED BOOKS (by our definition above), please list the title, ISBN, and retail price of your books that you will be delivering to the Killer Nashville bookstore. Upon delivering your books to the bookstore, you will be given a form stating the number of books you have delivered. The Killer Nashville bookstore will agree to take these books on consignment and offer them for sale to the public at the price you specify and will agree to pay you 60% of the retail price within 30 days after the end of Killer Nashville 2022. You agree to put prices on the books. You agree to deliver the books indicated below on site to the Killer Nashville bookstore anytime after 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2022, and pick up the remainders on or before Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. If you cannot pick up the books or any other items at the end of the event, they will be discarded. If you do not wish to carry books with you, the hotel is happy to accept shipments of your books at no charge. Simply mail them to Embassy Suites by Hilton, Nashville – South/Cool Springs, 820 Crescent Centre Drive, Franklin, TN 37067, Direct: 615-515-5207, embassysuitesnashvillesouth.com The box of books will need to have your name and the name of the program (Killer Nashville) on the shipping label.   Once you arrive at the hotel, you can go to the front desk to pick up the box of books and take them to the bookstore so they can stock them for you.  If you want to ship the package out after the program, you will need to make sure the correct shipping label is on the package (you can do all of this shipping label writing and scheduling of pickup and delivery prior to the conference) and you need to set a pickup time with the carrier of your choice. You’ll take the package from the bookstore back over to the front desk and leave it there for the carrier to pick up.  The hotel does not charge a fee to store books for Killer Nashville.  The hotel does ask that your books be shipped to the hotel close to the program date, due to the limited space in the hotel. If you do not wish to ship books to the hotel yourself, we have found that most publishers will more than likely be willing to do that for you if you ask. You’ll, of course, have to ship them back out from the hotel either to yourself or to your publisher, depending upon the relationship you have with your publisher.

If you have questions about the availability of your books, please feel free to contact the bookseller directly: Bound Booksellers 615-656-5345, a delightful independent bookstore that Killer Nashville has been so fortunate to find. Support your local independent!

TERMS FOR SIGNING BOOKS: Killer Nashville will accommodate all authors as space permits. Requesting a book signing during registration does not guarantee a book signing position. You will be notified before the conference of your book signing time(s). Consistent with other national conferences such as the New York MWA Symposium, all events may be taped and sold to raise money for future Killer Nashville events. Any recorded audio and visual appearances, including use of your voice, name, image, and likeness, are considered a charitable donation for the benefit and continuance of Killer Nashville. NO EXCEPTIONS. By submitting the registration form, you agree you have read and understand everything contained herein.

Also, if we cannot get your book from Ingram or the book is not returnable, that is not a bookstore issue. That is a publisher and distributor issue. Please talk with your publisher. Badgering the bookstore will not make a book suddenly appear.

Please include an announcement on your website that you will be appearing at Killer Nashville. When signing times are assigned, please include that information on your website as well so that your personal fan base will know when to see you specifically.
